Webmail Webmail is an email facility which is used via the internet. Most Internet Service Providers provide a webmail facility to their users so that you can send and receive email. An advantage of this email facility is that you can access your email from any computer which has access to the internet. You can usually access this facility by going to your ISP's website then logging on using the user name and password originally provided by the ISP. |
Email You can use an "email client" to retrieve, store and send email from your PC. An email client is an applications like Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Incredimail, and many others. These applications retrieive your email from your ISP and store the mon your PC. This type of application has the benefit of enabling you to store and handle your emails yourself - independently of your ISP. You can literally store thousands of email without having to worry about your ISP's space allocations. IF you are thinking of using Microsoft Office Outlook, bear in mind that it is not included in the Microsoft Office Home and Student suite of Microsoft applications. You either need to buy it seperately, or buy the Microsoft Office Business Edition, or the Microsoft Professional Edition. |
